Happy Halloween, guys! The surprise doesn't stop here. Keep going!
Citzens of DeviantArt! We have graced your website with our presence, so that you might behold the human form of the real princess of the night! A creature of nightmare no longer, but instead a pony who desires your love and admiration! Together we shall turn this dreadful celebration into a BRIGHT AND GLORIOUS FEEEEEAAST!!!
To me, Luna is a powerful creature. Very outspoken, articulate, and loud. Though she's very traditional (Traditional Royal Canterlot Voice). Tradition is a great thing to follow, but she kind of had to put it aside to get along with the other ponies. After all, a lot of things changed in the last 1000 years. Things are different since then. She had to do things differently to adjust to the current present time. Once she got comfortable, she's able to release her playful and fun loving self. Though still on the loud side. That's what I tried bringing out in this drawing.
Luna was a bit of a tough cookie in terms of using new proportions. Her, like Rarity, have very defined hourglass curve (Coincidentally, they're both voiced by Tabitha St. Germain). I tried making her appear taller than the rest of the ponies, as she is in fact is bigger than everyone else. Second to Celestia. She's also more angular than the regular ponies. I had to to things bit differently like the angular cheek bones, angular chin, slightly more defined fingers. Though she does retain some roundness so she doesn't divorce herself too much from the rest of the ponies.
I used a bit of a disney style dress. You see how there are lines on her dress? I got that influence from Aurora's dress from Sleeping Beauty. Her chest bears a breast plate more or less, though it looks like a tank top. As you can see I implemented the horse element quite a bit for the human. Shoes, bracelets, the dress. The bracelets are kind of there so the hands doesn't look so bare. I originally intended to implement Luna's tail onto the dress, but it would make things too complex. Instead, ^ ^ I made the dress as if it's one giant hoof with a giant horseshoe.
The background is simple. Black rectangle with lots of bats I repeat multiple times. I placed both the pony and human Luna intentionally so that they focus on the "Happy Halloween" sign.
